Independent living is for self-sufficient persons who want access to lifestyle amenities and assistance when necessary. This is a housing arrangement that is friendlier to aging adults.
Stellenoord Manor is an Independent and Assisted living care facility (with frail care) where residents are free to live an independent lifestyle and receive regular support for a range of activities. In addition to enjoying the peace of mind that comes from this maintenance-free lifestyle, residents can take advantage of events, activities, out-trips, and opportunities for social engagement.
Stellenoord Manor provides a home-like setting designed to promote comfort and a sense of independence for all the residents who call this home. The facility is bright and modernized, it offers communal dining area with restaurant style kitchen, lounge/games/library/TV room with adjoining outside patio.
Residents have an option of individual or shared units (depending on requirements and budget), which are spacious, modernized and filled with natural light. The rooms vary in size and offerings/options such as en-suite bathroom, balcony and individual kitchenette. Selected rooms feature scenic views looking out onto surrounding pristine gardens and the mountains of Stellenbosch.
The independent living units are available on a life right purchase or a life right rental basis and pricing is dependent on the size and position of the unit, a life right provides you with the right to occupy and enjoy your unit for the remainder of your life/lives. During this time a monthly levy is payable to fund general operating and common area maintenance costs and is structured to include whatever additional needs you may have which can include meals.
Assisted living
Assisted living means that you have your own home/ unit and support is put in place to help you live independently with personalized care as required.
This could mean that you are supported for a few hours a week, every day, overnight or 24 hours a day. The support is carefully planned to meet as your needs to live independently.
The support that residents receive is continuous but is tailored to their individual needs. It aims to enable the person to be as autonomous and independent as possible, and involves social support, improved quality of life and peace of mind.
Frail care
Frail care is for the elderly who can no longer care for themselves on a daily basis and where you receive the assistance you need within a supportive environment that presents the opportunity for an improved quality of life.
Frail care is the prevention or delaying of functional decline in older persons who are in need of assistance due to their general health status in a place where they have access to care assistance and/or specialized nursing services 24/7.
